وفاز منتخب الأرجنتين على فرنسا بنتيجة (4-2) بركلات الترجيح في المباراة التي جمعت المنتخبين على أرضية ملعب لوسيل بالدوحة القطرية.
وكان الوقت الأصلي والشوطين الإضافيين للمباراة بين المنتخبين انتهى بالتعادل الإيجابي بنتيجة (3-3) محققًا اللقب الغائب عن الطانغو الأرجنتيني منذ عام 1986 عندما حمل أناذاك الاسطورة الراحل ديغو أرماندو مارادونا الكأس الذهبية بملعب مكسيكو.
وحصل ليو ميسي على جائزة أفضل لاعب في مونديال قطر ، اليوم الأحد 18 دجنبر 2022 ، بعد مساهمته القوية في تتويج منتخب بلاده بلقب المونديال ، للمرة الثالثة في تاريخها.
وسجل ميسي ، هدفين في النهائي ، بالإضافة إلى 5 أهداف أخرى على مدار البطولة ، ليحتل المركز الثاني في ترتيب الهدافين برصيد 7 أهداف ، ويتوج بجائزة أفضل لاعب في المونديال فيفا قطر 2022.
ونجح البرغوث في زيارة الشباك ، في كل أدوار النسخة الحالية للمونديال. وأحرز ميسي (ثنائية) الهدف الاول من ركلة جزاء بالاضافة الى الهدف الثالث وآنخيل دي ماريا الهدف الثاني لراقصي الطانغو الأرجنتيني ، بينما سجل مبابي ثلاثية فرنسا ليحتكما المنتخبين معا لركلات الترجيح التي ابتسمت لأصدقاء العميد ليونيل ميسي وبهذا الفوز تحتفظ الارجنتين بالكأس الذهبية بصفة نهائية بعدما سبق لها الفوز به مرتين 1978 بالارجنتين و1986 بالمكسيك. وفي الختام أشرف رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم “فيفا” مرفوقا بأمير دولة قطر والرئيس الفرنسي ورؤساء الاتحادات القارية لكرة القدم – غياب رئيس الاتحاد الافريقي لكرة القدم “كاف” – على توزيع الميداليات الفضية والذهبية وعدد من جوائز الخاصة بالفيفا (انظر الجدول الرسمي لجوائز الفيفا قطر 2022)
