منتخب الأرجنتين هو متصدر المجموعة الثالثة حيث فاز على إندونيسيا (3-0) ثم أمريكا (3-1) وإنجلترا (3-2).
المنتخب الوطني المغربي حل ثالثا في المجموعة الرابعة حيث فاز على إيرلندا (6-0) وانهزم أمام البرازيل (0-2) وتعادل مع إيران (0-0) .
الأرجنتين تشارك بصفة مستمرة في كأس العالم وسبق أن نظمت نسخة سنة 2010 وحلت في المركز الثاني.
وفي تصفيات أمريكا الجنوبية المؤهلة إلى كأس العالم 2022 في كولومبيا شهر مارس الماضي تعادلت الأرجنتين مع البرازيل (1-1).
في الدوري الدولي لبولندا 2022 شهر يونيو الماضي تعادل المغرب مع إنجلترا في نصف النهائي (2-2) قبل أن يعود للانتصار على الاسود الثلاثة بركلات الترجيح.
المباراة ستكون صعبة وقوية، ولكن بالأداء الذي قدمه المنتخب الوطني المغربي في دور المجموعات رغم أنها مشاركته الأولى فجميع الاحتمالات واردة.
